I've never had the PSVR ask me to update the PSVR firmware.
On 5.05 my PSVR was on 3.10 and it never asked me to update it even though a later PSVR firmware version was available.

The firmware spoofer is only needed if your PS4 in on an incompatable FW version for your PSVR.

If your PSVR FW is 3.10 your PS4 FW needs to be 5.00 or higher:
so no spoof is needed on 5.05 or 6.72.

If your PSVR FW is 4.10 your PS4 FW needs to be 6.00 or higher:
so you need to spoof your FW on 5.05 to 6.00 or higher but you do not need to spoof if you are on 6.72.

If your PSVR FW is 5.00 your PS4 FW needs to be 8.00 or higher:
so you need to spoof your FW on 5.05 and on 6.72 to 8.00 or higher.

ok thanks
so can i ask where do the PSVR FW update checks and the PSVR FW updates actually come from?
could it be that you never got prompted because you have not run any games that have the update?
i mean do some VR games have a min VR FW requirement ?
or is the VR FW check and new PSVR FW updates just baked in the PS4 system FW version?
or does this sonly come from $ony servers from connecting your console online

i have a virgin PSVR from a skyrim bundle

not sure which FW it is on , PS4 is on 5.05 not sure if i will get an update nag or not when i connect it for the 1st time

but i could swear i was reading to not update the PSVR FW a long time ago before the new exploit dropped for the 6.72
so maybe that was a recommendation to not update to 3.10 if you were on 5.05 or 4.55
i guess there have been advances now then so i should be safe and not have to spoof if i am planning on staying on 3.55 for now right

also if there are PSVR FW updates in the games then are there fpkg files that have them removed or would it be possible to remove updates files like was done on PS3 to avoid update nags and to sav espace?
