This'll be a weird question/request, bear with me

I want to know if a PS4 and PSTV connected directly to each other through an Ethernet/crossover cable will be able to use remote play. Alternatively, I have a tiny 4-port network switch lying around, so would it be possible for remote play to work if I hooked up the two consoles with the network switch

As for the reason why, one my PS4 is hacked and I keep it off the internet and two my router is really crappy so I'd get shit performance that way too

This being such a weird situation, it's probably not been done before and so I would like to ask for someone with time and the required hardware to try it out for me. Thank you for your time

Really? With like a direct connection between the two with a patch/crossover cable or whatever its called?

You will most likely need to use your switch/router, it's easier to setup than direct connection.

Direct connection may work, but you will need to tinker with the network settings manually. (static IP etc)

I'll use the switch, but I'm concerned if the consoles connected through the switch will recognize it as being connected to a network to initiate remote play
Edit:I It'sjust a dumb network switch BTW, I don't think it has routing capabilities

It will use the network to initiate remote play... the only other way is WiFi direct connection which bypasses the need for a router, but PSTV's WiFi is very weak.

So it'll have to be connected to the internet to work? I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I follow. Does being connected to a network switch count as being connected to a network?

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
and nope the number still doesnt change
