Hello,
I have a psp1001 on software version 2.82 I'm looking to install custom FW and could use some help to point me in the right direction
So she gets everything she needs installed.

Check out this comprehensive and complete guide:

You'll have to decide between permanent or temporary cfw (which has to be reactivated every time you turn the console back on, via "fast recovery"). As far as I'm concerned I have the latter which works great, and reactivating it takes only a few seconds.

I didn't know your console belonged to the female gender 💅: then you will have to modify it (her?) even more gently and sweetly.... 🌹 🤣

I also have a PS VIta PCH 1001 which I modded with HENkaku on system 3.60 a 2-3 years ago, is there any updates I should consider?

cfw is easy as hell to install now. just update to 6.61 or 6.60 might be better, install the cfw you want, then use infinity to permanently install it. do this with other cfw, and you can use infinity to switch between them. I think this requires a restart iirc. also, you can go into ofw by holding home while powering on. it's simple as hell.

For a PSP 1000, Infinity is unnecessary. I recommend choosing a CFW and using the respective CIPL_Flasher as the permanent exploit.

This also includes PSP 2000s with TA-088v2 motherboards and older.

I'm pretty sure CIPL_Flasher fucked up my cfw installs as when installing infinity, all cfw gave black screen on boot, then power off. I had to use the chronus switcher to remove all traces of cfw and go back to ofw 6.60. now, cfw runs correctly and I can quadruple boot.

Correct. CIPL Flasher and Infinity alter the IPL. You can only choose one, as they are not compatible with each other. The official Infinity was made for the PSPs that couldn't use CIPL.

I can use both, but I prefer infinity since it's simple to switch between multiple cfw (using ark4 now), which may only be compatible with infinity as there's a special infinity that comes with the builds. normal infinity can only see me and pro.

Is there a guide somewhere that shows me about all the different apps and what they do?
