I am sold on not getting use and it being modable. That is really all I care about in the end. I have an issue buying "used" unless given to me.

Strange how I can't find any reference of model # on my PSP-2003 PB box. I've looked all over, and can see various numbers, but not one anywhere close to #98510. I suppose that's why you used "#?????".

Yes you are correct, the UK online shops don't use the model codes.

Check Play.com (playtrade) there are some traders selling PSP's with CFW

Bought both my slim and phat PSP off Ebay. Could have bought them from Gamestop but well, that's another story. Face plates can always be replaced anyways.

Colors dun matter much unless it's hot pink of something.

what if you were to buy a refurbished slim at gamestop
would those be moddable
or is there just no way to find out

I believe there is not way to find out until you install an app that will show you the version of the mobo, especially for the slim. Chances of getting a slim PSP with a very new mobo version(un-moddable) at Gamestop are not high. No problems with the PSP Phat.

so its unlikely that i get the unmodable firmware at game stop
all right then i wil just go to gamestop

Better bet is go to a shop - that way you can look at the box
what do you mean lookat the bow there are different kind??

The box as far as I know, has the model number on it, which would make it easier to find the right model which supports cfw.
Not all online retailers are that detailed with their descriptions.

so i read that there are motherboards TA-085 and TA-085 v2 TA-085 v3 TA-088v1 TA-088v2 TA-088v3
and they are all hackable except for the v3 but you just have to soft mod a battery with a psp that already has cfw or hardmod the battery yourself and use that battery to use as your pandora.
correct me if i am wrong please
i do not accidently think something wrong

My Slim PSP as you can see is TA-085 v2 - You CANNOT Pandorise the battery though
TA-085 should work also.

Look for PSP-2XXX on the side of the box.
Also check for the box print year on the back.

If you go for the PSP-2001 PB with a 2007 box print - you can't go wrong.

I can't say for sure about the TA-088 boards.

All I know is that beyond TA-085 v2,the PSP can't write to the battery - so you can't make a Pandora battery.
You can hardmod a battery, or use a PSP older than the TA-085 v2 to pandorize the battery.
You can even use a Phat PSP to pandorize the battery and use the Phat battery on the Slim to mod/unbrick it

so then i could use my old psp phat to soft its battery and use that battery to hack the psp

No - Pandorise your old Phat battery on your Phat PSP and then use the Phat battery on your Slim to mod and/or unbrick it.

ok thank you for all the info fission that is all i need to know
and thank you everyone else for the help

Just want to confirm something, I have a PSP Phat and a Panadora battery. Are are current models hackable if I already have the Pandora battery?

I think I am going to get a slim in the next couple of days before the 3000's flood the market.
