Just want to confirm something, I have a PSP Phat and a Panadora battery. Are are current models hackable if I already have the Pandora battery?

I think I am going to get a slim in the next couple of days before the 3000's flood the market.

If you have a phat, Then yes, Its hackable, just need the MMS (Magic Memory stick)

You want to Hack a Slim PSP or a new Phat?

Not all current slim models are hackable, and as far as I'm aware, the TA-088v1, TA-088v2 & TA-088v3 are not hackable.

But as discussed in this thread, if you go for a TA-085 or a TA-085v2 you shouldn't have a problem.

(and as Sstew pointed out you will need a Magic Memory Stick)

I already have the MMS and the Pandora Battery. I have installed CFW on a couple of friends PSP Slims in the past. I just wanted to see if when I went to buy my own slim, that I can downgrade it.

I don't follow all the changes that go on any longer since there is so much to keep on top of. I was just reading the posts and I couldn't tell if people were saying that the PSPs couldn't be downgraded because you couldn't make a pandora with them, or because the mobos. So it looks like the reason is because of the mobos.

Besides the codes posted here, is there a site that list the # on the box of non downgradable PSPs?

i got my slim at gamestop it was a used refurbished slim. I modded it without any problems whats soever.
That is what i recommend you do alucard77

ive read online that the TA-088v1 is hackable

I actually did some extra reading last night, it seems that the TA-088v3 is the only one that cannot be hacked currently.

The earlier models can be hacked with DCv7. I hope this helps others. Still no clue how to tell what your getting.

My Slim PSP as you can see is TA-085 v2 - You CANNOT Pandorise the battery though
TA-085 should work also.

Look for PSP-2XXX on the side of the box.
Also check for the box print year on the back.

If you go for the PSP-2001 PB with a 2007 box print - you can't go wrong.

I can't say for sure about the TA-088 boards.

All I know is that beyond TA-085 v2,the PSP can't write to the battery - so you can't make a Pandora battery.
You can hardmod a battery, or use a PSP older than the TA-085 v2 to pandorize the battery.
You can even use a Phat PSP to pandorize the battery and use the Phat battery on the Slim to mod/unbrick it

I just wanted to make sure that you were 100% sure about this. I was at BB today, and they had 2 PSPs that were both PSP2001PB/98150 with Print 2007. If your 100% sure, I am picking this up tomorrow.

I thought the 2007 Print date was when the copy for the box was written. I don't think they update the boxes to say 2008. I could be wrong, but I want to be 100% sure before spending $170.

Thanks again.

Does it matter what kind of psp i get so i can get Custom firmware?

That is the purpose of this thread, some PSPs are not hackable. Read back, and you will see what we are saying.

Anyone actually have a psp that has the TA88v3 board and is unhackable? It would be very useful if they posted what the model number is. PSP2001PB-98510 or whatever it is. That way we can see if we can distinguish the newer models and the older ones
