More like you don't know to be honest since this thread is on HBG Shop asking people to donate cert, even well homebrew and bootloader developers such as XorTroll and CTCaer wouldn't accept donated Nintendo Switches it is just too much trouble for them since they know the person donating it wants something in return.

OK so let me get this straight, I don't know the difference between cfw, himebrew and backups because you believe some developers don't accept donations? Honestly, don't even bother quoting me anymore because arguing with you is like arguing with a wall. Also! You tell me how I don't know what I'm talking about yet you are the one who is talking about developers not supporting piracy when In fact they do. As far as I'm concerned this conversation is over.

the general public doesn't care about their certs the general public agrees that nintendo online is not worth the 20$ so a ban doesn't mean anything
I care about my cert alot. I bought the online service pretty much day 1 on my hacked/main system and make pretty decent use of it, I also make heavy use of the eshop which requires an unbanned cert

You were wrong in the first place saying developers accept Nintendo switch donation, known developers don't. It is true that some developers accept tiny donations for their work but not a Nintendo switch console donation, that like someone giving them 300 bucks and bribe the developers develop only for them.

It's applied to closed source scene stuff (like TX OS, new Tinfoil, nxmtp...) if the people can't check the source we didn't know that can do with your system and your data (without a hard reversing process).

It's possible read prodinfo data and upload to servers with homebrew stuff, so if you don't like get banned don't share your nand backups (full or partitial) and avoid all programs that don't share his code.

Quite am interesting debate, assuming that to know with certainty the outcome a devs decision to accept a donation is, and also the intentions of donor who is currently figurative is a bold statement. There is endless unknown variables in that figurative scenario to say anything for certain.

All of the public cares for their cert. It's their console data being transferred. Most of the public isn't willing to spend for the online service.

Also, a ban cuts you off from all of the online activity, not the paying part of it. That's a hard price to pay.

Had to stick the second sentence on the title as false info was annoying me.

Whether people do or don't care about banning is up to them. I imagine there are enough people out there that don't (it is not like Nintendo has good online services and games to run on them, and if you are paying for them to boot... yeah). What devs do and don't accept as far as donations is up to them, however thousands of projects have accepted sacrificial hardware and software dumps in the past and I don't see what that would change here (so the current crop of public facing hackers have some things they do or do not do? And?). It feels bizarre to even have to cover all this (I thought it would be obvious) but whatever, not like a few lines of text are a problem.

In the end thanks for sharing the news of a potential service that will ensure us in the "don't much care for the official update" channels might have a nice ability to select update levels for games in the future, and in previous discussions about standalone downloaders the anti set were slow in committing to such a goal. Such things are nice to have.

I honestly couldn't give two shits about them. This thread is where I heard about them. I wouldn't share my cert with anybody. I know the risks...i've been in the Switch community since it was first founded. I know it all.

Sure except these people seem to have a somewhat iffy track record so far, atleast what I've seen and heard. I don't really follow it much anyway. Just giving out certs should be a big nono for someone that have some sense of their hardware. More banned cert means less potential hackable Switches (Fusee Gelee bug once)
And the people who own this "site" isn't very secure either. So it's probably just a matter of time before Nintendo shut it all down. Especially since they're public here and on Reddit.

Just giving my two cents, what people choose todo afterwards is up to them.

(quick thanks to @linuxares for the screenshot that I am going to use).

/hbg/ are now asking for people's certs.

Now, you should NEVER SHARE YOUR CERT. There is a very high risk that your console will get banned because of it. Because, what most likely will happen is /hbg/ will abuse the certificate and Nintendo will ban it.

Avoid programs that dump your cert/prodinfo.bin (Incognito for example). To stay safe. Remember, they can do what they want with the cert you gave them. I'm not saying that their intentions are malicious. But just do this at your own risk!
Or just run Incognito while offline, as you should anyway because going online without Incognito is not safe. 90DNS/SX Stealth Mode doesn't block everything.

You think incognito is safe? It was made by an untrustworthy developer. For all you or anyone else knows that shady developer is using incognito to collect user data.
