Legit CIAs work. I managed to get Mario Kart 7 on my n3ds EU. Just waiting on the time machine now as it is the only sane thing to do!

Cool that your crystal ball seems to work better than mine. Even if it DOESN'T get released, it'd make more sense for the current set of tools to be updated a little bit more (to iron out the bugs) before attempting this, unless of course you have an extra 150+ dollars laying around to replace your system (or if you're actually hardmodded).

That was directed at the comment about waiting for Pingo's downgrader. I'm not saying no tool will ever be released, but it won't be from him if there is one.

Unless he cares to share how his magical downgrader menu won't have the exact same problem everyone's currently having now? How, exactly, will you get around process9's checks for the current NATIVE_FIRM? Without that his supposed work will get you no further than the current method.

Uninstall the current one? Just like how the rest of the CIAs are installed? Just, you know, a guess...

FFS, he's not even saying he wants to downgrade. He's saying don't put your hopes on a menu that can't compile correctly to fix this issue. It's going to be just a menu. It's not going to fix anything, and when asked how it would, JustPingo doesn't give a straightforward answer and instead just leaves it vague in the hopes that it seems legit.

All you have to do is solder to CLK CMD GND and DAT0 and match those up with the corresponding pins on a micro SD card adapter

Over on reddit is a package which includes the modified FBI. I did the 3DS-FTP trick before booting into fbi.
The exploit runs, then it says done. At this point it may crash or not. If it does not crash you press B and it boots into the fbi we all know.
Install cia and profit!!

Btw it took a few goes to get me there. It is very hit and miss. Sometimes I got mapping complete and cleaning up. Both have failed to load exploit

I mean, I can just get the update CIAs for my games and run them through FBI, but I'm just curios if anyone has done so.

That was for Gateway bricked NANDs, you had to send custom MMC commands and the rpi was the best choice for that... With this kinda thing all you need to do is just write to the NAND like any standard block device
