So yeah, I heard somewhere that PS4 and XBO are made with PC component, making them lot easier to emulate than previous console. Just want to know if that's true

    They run x86 code yes.
Doesn't mean their easy to emulate.
Games will likely be ported over or like the old Xbox, High/Low level emulation (forgot which one)

If you get the source code for Xbox One or PS4 operating system, then yes.

    why
The original xbox and 360 are also easy to emulate. then why don't we have emulators for either of them

    /s

Just because similar architecture, does not mean it's easier.. in fact it means it's harder

They wouldn't be "emulated", per definition, because the X1/PS4 have the x86-64 architecture that PCs usually use. It wouldn't be "emulation", more like finding a way of running the X1/PS4 OS on the PC, or something like that. If it is the same architecture, it's probably not emulation, afaik. Also, if emulation of the CPU is needed, I have the feeling we won't be seeing it anytime soon.

but let me guess, it would require less power to ''emulate'' them than x360/ps3 since the latter has very different architecture, right?

I suppose, even if some of the instructions had to be emulated, others could be used natively, making it easier. Since they're both x86, it should be possible. I'm more concerned about the graphics part than the CPU tbh. Not entirely sure how that'd work.

Okay, so CPU are alike, but not GPU, right?

that might not be an emulator at all, but compatibility layer such as wine. I dont think it is possible though

It IS possible. The thing is, we probably won't see it in a..... long time.

EDIT - this post is mostly wrong and I claim the wrong

    compatibility layer = emulation

Whether you emulate an entire system or part of a system, you are still completing a hardware process in software, Q.E.D emulating.

The chips in both PS4 and XBO are significantly different enough from desktop processors that getting PS4/XBO games running on a PC would require several features and instruction sets to be emulated. This not really that different from older gen emulation and, as others have said, probably more difficult as these chips/features/instruction sets are far more complicated.

compatibility layer is not necessarily an emulator. Wine is a compatibility layer and it is NOT an emulator.

If I'm not wrong, Wine means "Wine Is Not an Emulator".
