Hacking PS4 Jailbreak FAQs?

Hi all,
What's the current status on PS4 jailbreak? Thinking of getting a 5.05, how easy it to jailbreak it, where do you get the games from as no psn and latest game you can play is GOW/up to April 2018 right?

Sorry for all this questions I'm a noob. Would be nice to have a pinned thread with basic PS4 jailbreak status and few FAQ's.

?? an exploit basically means that the security of both the Webkit and Kernel has been defeated which should stop any unsigned code from executing but failed.
This IS definetely a jailbreak. Although I hate this word because I rather use it on iPhones and not assiocate it with PlayStation.

it's not a jailbreak. pfs has not been defeated. it's bypassed. if it were defeated, we wouldn't need to go through the hassle of backing up games in a specific way or 0'ing out the keystone to use saves. jailbreak suggests full control over the system, which we publicly do not have.

You see what i mean by all this obfuscation especially to a noob. Which brings me unto my next question which I'm sure will grind some veterans even more. But I've read the guide and I'm still confused, is like the guide was written for technical veterans. Whereas the PS3 scene is so much simpler.

First you should understand how it works as it is not a jailbreak, so no CFW, it is just an exploit allowing you access to the debug menu that is normally available on development units. The exploiting method is pretty simple either you use Al-Azif DNS or self-host the file yourself, using the homebrew enabler you gain access to the debug menu where games can be installed from there, the exploit ain't permanent once you shut down the unit you have to reload the homebrew enabler next time you turn on the unit.

Games with higher firmware requirements than 5.05 wouldn't work on an exploit 5.05. The format of the games that run on an exploited 5.05 system is call fake package short for fpkg, official package game wouldn't work. If you really want a video tutorial you can watch modded warfare video on youtube, he has a series on them.

it's at the bottom of system settings. if it's not there, hen is not enabled.

Check your firmware first, highest exploitable firmware publically right now is 7.02.
