@Uwabami Man...i don't know where this guy gets the idea he can insult you personally for the decision of the entire team(obviously not the only problem here, but it's not been mentioned yet). I do have a suggestion though for any future drama like this, since it has happened before. Ignore the trolls entirely, and report them. I know that's hard to do, especially when someone attacks you personally for something that was only partially, if at all, your decision, but it is the inky safe thing to do on the Internet. Trolls have balls the size of death stars as long as they're protected by the Internet.

If Capcom announced they were going to localize this game, would you shut down the whole project?

To my knowledge, the community manager who tweeted that apologized for getting people's hopes up. I'm still sure we won't get an official western release. Would we stop if an official release was announced? Can't speak for everyone, but I guess that would move us out of a legal grey area - and we don't intend to harm CAPCOM in any way. We love their games.

Thanks, we know most of the AA fanbase are nice, rational people. There'll always be some bad apples I guess...

Well, he is right about me being not a good hacker, I'm well aware of that. But no one else would do it, so I do what I can. Those interjections are in there, yes. We still have some minor technical issues, but nothing we won't eventually solve. And the demo actually uses only part of our hacks and not even the most recent ones.

I think it's cool that you and other people are going through the effort of translating this game. Any text heavy game like this must be a nightmare to get done. I do agree with one possible suggestion that someone mentioned (I thought it was a cool idea, but you said you aren't) is that while they're speaking "japanese" in game, you keep the honorifics. Someone said when they go to london, they start speaking english apparently so i could understand that. If not, it's fine in the end.

I don't get people who lose sleep or rage over seeing honorifics translated or not translated. I'm watching this thread closely Thanks in advance for you and your team's hard work.

I'm not aware of any emulator being able to run this game in a playable way. And then there's our stance against piracy, which is why we'd like you guys to stop talking about ways to do that, please.

We don't want to receive a C&D letter before we even release the first episode...

Those do look very nice, but graphics are already mostly done, sorry (those were the easiest to do). We could still use people who can disassemble and make sense of ARM binaries, though. Editors and Proofreaders are always appreciated as well - there is a required work quota, though.

If you're still looking for coders, I'm willing to help. I have already released a few undubs and have experience with 3ds rom hacking. I also have full access to the 3ds sdk and am a skilled c++ and asm x86/x64 coder arm would take me a bit more time though

Could you tell us more about the arm code you need to understand ? What are you after ?

Part of this might be solvable by creating a new font with Nintendo tools. I had the same type of issues when playing around with the JPN DQ7 rom.

Sadly it doesn't use the Nintendo SDK tools for fonts but a custom solution. I'll PM you...

That would open up the project to a C&D from Nintendo, so I wouldn't recommend doing this (it's illegal to use the SDK in ROM hacks).

Well, we are not, and it wouldn't help in either way... We made our own tools.

It wasn't as easy as swapping files, it required some additional work. It does look a lot better now, but I'm not going to make the same mistake a second time, showing unfinished work around for some trolls to ridicule.

And using the DD/SoJ font will actually require people to have Dual Destinies or Spirit of Justice as well, because we can't just put it in our patch legally. We want this to be completely legal, so CAPCOM would have no reason to send a C&D letter.

I can tell the font swap I did with the spirit of justice font worked because some text on the bottom screen was missing its original text. But the top screen still used the original games font (the great ace attorney's.)
