If your up for requests, once all the main features are in would it be possible to add an option to fill the boxes with randomized eggs? (for egglockes and such)

Right now, it extracts the selected game's save file, and exports the modified save to sd. You still have to use a save manager to inject it back to the game. It IS intentional, security against save corruption.
If I understand the pk6 format correctly, using it should be pretty easy, since the handling is the same as the decrypted pokemons in the save.
So it means that if you have ORAS/XY loaded in the cartridge slot, you can directly decrypt and extract the save and modify it without using SaveDataFiler?
The only thing SDF should be needed for is to inject the save back into the game, did I get it right?

From what he has said, SDF would only be used to inject your save back in, as a security measure against corruption

Exactly

Once I'm confident enough with the stability, I'll switch to directly exporting to the savedata, probably with an automatic backup on the sdcard

lol

I don't think you understand how serious an undertaking this is.

I mean, good luck, but I'd place very high odds on this failing.
It's almost like SciresM doesn't remember the vastly superior version of PokeSav that was made for DS flash carts...

PPSE or whatever the flash cart version was called was amazing. Made breeding easy because you could just see if the eggs were worth a damn before hatching them, and then get rid of them easily.

I'd love a 3DS X/Y (OR/AS suck balls) version.

So, today/tonight news, I spent most of my time refactoring my code and enhancing the UI.
Now the only thing left to do is to actually add fields to modify the data, and that's the boring part...
The latest github version for PCHex is 'usable' (if all you want to edit, is one of your pc's Pokémon level), you still have to inject the save manually as a security measure

I'm thinking of creating a new thread for PCHex, since the project is completely separated from the original 3FHex now.
Any objections ?

I'm going to sleep right now, I'll read your answers later !

Yeah, that'd be a good idea seeing as you've already make 3Fhex redundant. I could edit this thread and put a link up to the release for you if you want though
