Gaming Professor Layton and the Unwound Future problem.

When I finish the drunk guy's puzzle and he gives me a picture book, it hangs. I tried it 3 times, but sadly, it still doesn't work. Am I the only one who's having this problem? By the way, I'm using R4(firmware=Wood R4) I want to play this game very badly, but I can't continue the game. Please help.

Here's one thing I learned before posting threads like this

That's to debug. Always debug before posting.
Here's how to debug:
-Make sure your ROM is clean
-Re-download the ROM (Helped like a million times from games that freeze, believe me.)
-Make sure the Firmware of your cart is the latest.
-Make sure you try it with cheat codes off, as there is a small chance they're interfearing with the game.
-And lastly, try backing up your Micro SD on ur laptop/PC, use the Panasonic formatter to format your Micro SD, then put all the files back on.

Once all that is done, you've successfully debugged.
That SHOULD solve your problem.

Well I'm using Wood as well and my game froze at a random point, even with the VENOM rom...

Try turning off the soft-reset option for that game, it seemed to work for me

I tried to download the ROM again, but it still won't work. I also tried to turn off cheats and soft-reset.

Just want to say, anyone having trouble with the rom needs to do the following:
1.Download the SD formatter from here
2. Once downloaded, install the formatter.
3.place your Micro SD card into your card reader
3.Place your card reader (with the Micro SD inside) into your computer.
4. Backup all files on your micro SD and copy to PC.
5. Open the Panasonic Formatter.
6. choose your settings.
7. wait until it finishes formatting then copy everything, that you backed up, onto the micro sd.
8.Preferably "Safely Remove" USB.
9.Start playing games on your flashcart.

follow that and it should work.

The only time that this solution worked for me was when I used to use YSMenu o___O

For some reason, YSMenu was really picky about certain things, but since I switched to Wood I havent had to re-format once.

umm wtf are you going on about, my post was for the op to try it, not for someone else to say that didn't work for them, I have wood firmware aswell, and I was having problems with this game and a reformat fixed it straight away, so I was just posting what worked for me and you posted what worked for you, we posted them for the op to try them. That is all.

If it doesn't work on the Wood R4, try using 1.18. It worked for me.

Hi,

I'm going to use this thread, as I have a similar problem.
I use a CycloDS, and the game always goes to a black screen right after the first mystery is presented.
I redownloaded the game, I tried the VENOM and NUKETHIS releases, I used the most recent official as well as the latest beta firmware, and I formatted my card with this panasonic program. Nothing changed anything.
Does anyone have an idea, what could be the problem? I desperately want to play that game
