Homebrew problems with homebrew applications

I am having some strange problems recently. I put any region changer, and a gc booter application into the apps folder on my sd card (where all the other applications are), but when i load homebrew, these applications dont show up. its bizarre because all the other applications show up fine.

any ideas?
