I can't get my Acekart to go past the loading screen. I put the firmware folder and the ak2.nds file into the SD card. Can somebody please tell me how I can get the Acekart to go past the loading screen and have the firmware activate.

If its named ak2.nds then thats your problem shoud be named akmenu4.nds and have either __ak2 or __aio folder (If your using AKAIO like you should be).

*checks the file* Oh yeah I wrote that wrong. The file IS akmenu4.nds

I basically dragged and dropped the whole folder into the Flash Drive while the SD card was inserted. And the folder that appeared in the download alongside the file was called _ak2. Is there something I'm missing?

Just got the Acekard2i today in the mail. I try the simple firmware they have on their site, "System File is Missing". I try the RPG, "System File is Missing". Each and every single one, being careful to HAVE THE DAMN SYSTEM FILE IN THERE, "System File is Missing".

I've gone and done it so much, the latch is now broken. I'm resorting to clear tape to hold the SD card in... Still nothing. I can't find any help on this issue anywhere else...
I just want to play Platinum by this week.

/noobs' failure Sunday...

Download Latest AKAIO v1.4.1 PROPER and the latest loaders from http://akaio.gbatemp.net/loaders/ and it should work fine.

Downloaded it but I'm not sure which folder on the Flash Drive I stick it into. I literally just got my Acekard 2 yesterday and I've never used a single flash cart of any kind in my life.

Update. I stuck the ak2loader.nds file into my flash drive and when I use the Acekart it still refuses to bypass the loading screen. Can anyone tell me word for word exactly what I need to do to properly set up all the files on my flash drive?

lets do this step by step and try to get your kit working. open the akaio wiki in a new tab/browser so you can refer to it.

1) format the microSD with the panasonic formatter. you can find a link to it in the wiki.
2) download 1.4.1 proper (again a link in the wiki).
3) follow in install guide (yes at the wiki). put the _aio folder and akmenu4.nds in the ROOT of your microSD card
4) insert the microSD card firmly in a non-spring loaded (new shell) ak2.1 and ak2i. if your msd slot is spring loaded make sure it "clicks."
5) insert the acekard firmly into your nds, again make sure it clicks.

6) boot the nds, select the "acekard" from the nds firmware slot1 selection. hopefully the akaio firmware boots.

as long as it is detected by the nds firmware the problem is not with the acekard but the microSD or the msd slot. can you confirm that msd works? can you test it on another flash linker? do other flash linkers work in that nds? etc...

I think the problem is that my DS isn't detecting the firmware. I got the DS in July 2007 and like I said just got the Flash Cart yesterday morning in the mail. I've followed the instructions and even tried it three times and it's still frozen on the loading screen.

but your DS shows the acekard in the DS firmware? the box where you select to boot a slot1 game or flash kit? if so then its a microsd problem. just so you know all acekard products have a 1 yr warranty. you can contact your retailer and get a replacement. if that fails you can try the team directly. there is more info on this in the akaio wiki f.a.q. section.

Code:
My Acekard stopped working, what now?
Did you format the microSD with the Panasonic formatter and then put AKAIO back on? Does your microSD work in another flash kit? Does your Acekard work in another NDS? If you have fully debugged and it still isn't working than perhaps you have a faulty kit. All Acekard products come with an unspoken 1 year warranty. First contact your retailer and ask for a replacement. If they will not replace it then contact Team Acekard. Team Acekard usually asks for proof that you attempted to get it replaced, and for digital images of your flash kit in various states of use. Be prepared to go back and forth on a few e-mails before getting a replacement option.

i'm using a launch day ds lite, and i have no issues.

you need to test another microsd card in that acekard, or test that acekard in another nintendo ds, or test that microsd in another flash linker. your using an ak2.1 or an ak2i? and does your shell have the spring loaded micro sd slot?

I'll test it out on another DS when I have access to a friend's DS. As for the spring loaded bit, as far as I can tell I don't think so. I mainly got the Acekard and EZ Flash 3-in-1 kit for GBA ROMs anyway so as long as I can load GBA ROMs when I get the EZ Flash I'll be fine.

does your acekard have plastic clips on the side holding the shell closed? if it does than the msd has a spring. if it appears to be glued shut, then it doesn't have a spring. again the kit without the spring takes EXTRA pressure to get the msd inserted, sometimes. push it down as far as it will go, and then push a bit harder. just don't break it =)

return it if you can. most have a 7yr (limited lifetime) warranty. try your retailer or the company directly. i would try another msd before sending it back. its much easier to get your acekard replaced.

good luck!

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
