I have one interesting problem with my PC. Display is turning off every few seconds and it turns on again if I turn off and then turn on my monitor. I have tried with different monitor, PSU, GPU and RAM. What should I do next?
I hate to generically say "Board's Toast" But it seems to me you have tried just about everything else.I have tried clr CMOS and the problem is still here, I have changed thermal paste but it is not that becouse temperatures are normal. So motherboard then?
He tried onboard as well as otherwise. And the problem hits before the OS kicks on. Which means its happening during post. Linux won't help.Try to boot into a Linux distro (just try ubuntu) and see if the problem persists. Otherwise, this may be a video card problem. Try uninstalling your video card driver from the Device Manager in Windows, then reboot to use your on-board graphics.
I thought about that too, but if he's getting the same problem with the onboard, I kinda doubt its a bad slot.Hmm. Try putting the GPU in a different PCI slot? It's hard to believe all of them could be fried.
Not really, because the actual cable is still connected to the GPU in the possibly broken slot, even if it's not using the GPU drivers.I thought about that too, but if he's getting the same problem with the onboard, I kinda doubt its a bad slot.
Maybe, but seems like a long shot. Not really, because the actual cable is still connected to the GPU in the possibly broken slot, even if it's not using the GPU drivers.
There's actually a DVI port on your motherboard? Okay. Sorry, yeah, it's got to be a board problem then. But when I connect DVI cable directly to motherboard the problem is still here.
Been there, tried that, read the thread. :-PHow are your temperatures? It might not be cooling probably and shutting down parts to prevent damage.
