Hello everyone,

I’m primarily a PSN and Xbox user, but recently I’ve been thinking about building my first entry-level gaming PC. I’ve received different suggestions from friends and online sources, but honestly, it’s left me more confused than confident. I’d really appreciate advice from experienced PC gamers or builders on which setup makes the most sense for performance, longevity, and value.

Here are the options I’ve shortlisted:

Option 1: AMD Build
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
  • Cooler: A400
  • Motherboard: B450 S2H
  • RAM: 16GB 3200MHz
  • Storage: 256GB NVMe + 1TB HDD
  • PSU: Antec 650W or Corsair 550W (80+)
  • Case: Mid-budget casing
  • GPU Choices: RTX 2060 Super, AMD 6600XT, RX 5700XT
Option 2: Intel Build
  • CPU: Intel i5 12400F
  • Cooler: A400 or Intel Stock Cooler
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte H610 or Intel H610M-E DDR4
  • RAM: 16GB 3200MHz
  • GPU Choices: RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600
  • PSU: 650W or DRACO 600W
  • Case: BlackFox Case
Option 3: AMD Budget Build
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
  • Cooler: A400
  • Motherboard: B450M
  • RAM: 16GB 3200MHz
  • Storage: 256GB NVMe + 1TB HDD
  • PSU: AeroCool Lux 550W 80+ Bronze
  • Case: Thunder X Tar
  • GPU Choice: AMD 6600XT
My main confusion which processor would give me the best balance of gaming performance, Between GPU option which one is the most reliable for gaming at 1080p/1440p, The PSU Brand option and the Motherboard etc.

I’d love to hear your expert opinions so I can make the right choice before investing. Thanks in advance for guiding a console gamer stepping into the PC world!

Note: I have these options where i can easily mix and match to make a perfect build.

What's your budget and what games do you want to play?
pc partpicker has guides on builds which I suggest looking at.

My thoughts are get a 3060 at a minimum you and go full solid state for storage, 2.5 ssds are affordable these days if you can't justify nvme.

my budget is between USD 1000 and 2000, I’d like to know what kind of build within that range would give a good experience without feeling wasted.
