The Scottish government has confirmed that the day of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be a public holiday in Scotland.

It was announced earlier that the pair will marry on Friday 29 April at Westminster Abbey.[/p]

With the Scottish government been convinced the Scots want to leave the Union why are they doing this?

Can't agree more. I personally don't see why the chinless wonders should be counted as special because their great great... ...great granddad was a bigger murdering bastard than mine. If it was up to me we'd scrap the monarchy and separate church from state tomorrow.

Not really, the only people who come for the royals seem to be the Americans.

It's because it's like a zoo. They get to see something that no one needs.

Re 4 day weekend. Remember what happened when they declared new years eve for the millenium a bank holiday- just about about bastard still went to work.
Mickey Mouse bank holidays are rarely acknowledged.

As for the reasons I will second the utter apathy.

Well, if I'm getting a day off school, I couldn't care for the reason. 4 day weekend FTW! [IMG]
