Nintendo should enable the Japanese international version of the console for maximum profit. Don't forget the tourist money that will bring to Japan too. Make it Japan exclusive.

Nobody is planning a full trip to Japan to save $125 on a Switch 2, so making the cheaper Japanese only console work internationally (like the more expensive model) wouldn't bring in "tourist money".

Also, if the cheaper Switch 2 worked internationally, people would just buy them to sell overseas for a profit. Nintendo wouldn't profit from this.

I literally own a Japanese language S2 and I live in America. So long as a game has language options, you can change them. Granted, I speak enough Japanese to play my favorites without issue.

And my point wasn't that they're not worth it, it was that nobody is organizing a multiple thousand dollars trip to save $125 on a console and that making this console "region free" would not make more profits for Nintendo.

Well, considering that this 'word' came from the creator of Atmosphere himself, I'd say the hype is justified. If SciresM/Michael/Antares won't keep a lid on it, it's practically guaranteed.

You can download all of your content from any region. I changed my account to Japan and still have all my games.

Wait, which game? I'm pretty sure Nintendo games have at least English and Japanese, no matter the region they are sold in. Unless the game is a Japanese exclusive game, which I honestly do not know any.

Stern pinball is so good! I love the IC system that lets you log in and collect achievements on their tables.

Unfortunately they aren't close to where I live and I don't have room or spare $6000 to buy one to play myself.

I mean, that's pretty obvious really. Staying low gives most flexibility and gives you the best odds of being able to use something if the console does ever get hacked. That's why the people telling others to update because hurdur unexploitable are so annoying. That is not a good reason to update.

Would be pretty hilarious if something was found on a specific firmware that wasn't available on any game cart though
