No, I don't think so. You should be good with an Acekard.Kusiga said:Slowking said:Acekard2 + EZ 3 in 1Kusiga said:Use? games, homebrew

Spelt AceKard wrong BTW xDD
So you are going to use it for roms and homebrew... And you are willing to pay 30 -> 40 USD? I guess you should just go with the AceKard 2 if you don't want to pay a high budget. The AceKard 2 has a fast GUI and it also has built in GBA support (No Third Party Software Needed, but you still need expansion pack ). It goes for a cheap price depending on where you buy it. I will direct you to which site after. The M3 Real is good, but also confusing (IMO). My little sister has an M3 Real. She is currently using it, I don't really like the OS setup. And loading roms takes a while... But you also have the benefit of trying the M3 Sakura firmware.
And when choosing which AceKard to buy, get an AceKard 2.1. It comes in a CardBoard box instead of plastic. Since the ones that come in plastic were the older ones, it's not advised to get one since there are many FAT Errors back then. If you buy a AceKard in a cardboard box, make sure that the AceKard's PC Board is black. That way, you know it's the newer 2.1 version.
If you are still new to this, go for the AceKard 2. It's user friendly I guess. And the OS isn't hard to learn. But if you are willing to research and pay $20 USD, then go for the M3 Real.
Oh and a Slot-2 is the bottom slot for your DS. That's where you play Game Boy Advance games. And the EZ-Flash 3-in-1 is basically used for:
- Rumble Pack (Rumbles your DS. But Drains the Power. Only compatible with certain games)
- Expansion Pack (So you can go on the NDS Browser)
- GBA Expansion Pack (Gives you extra ram so you can play GBA Roms )
One more thing, if you are considering getting an M3 Real, then when you buy a Slot-2 don't get the EZ-Flash 3-in-1. The M3 Real comes in a bundle with a GBA Expansion pack, and it has much more benefits.
Where to buy AceKard 2:
AceKard 2.1 (Newer One.) for $11.27
AceKard 2 (Older One.) for $ 12.06
Where to buy M3 Real:
M3 Real without Expansion Pack (But with Rumble Pack) for $28.34
M3 Real with Expansion Pack for $42.85
Where to buy EZ-Flash 3-in-1:
EZ-Flash 3-in-1 Expansion Pack (Black) for $18.99
EZ-Flash 3-in-1 Expansion Pack (White) for $18.99

QUOTE(HDClown @ Dec 21 2008, 09:11 AM) I've been reading the past few months of recommendations and the theme seems to be CycloDS, AceKard 2.1, or Edge. A few posts indicates about some advanced features of the CycloDS and I don't really know what they mean. Was hoping someone could elaborate on them:
RTS, Battery Saver, Download Play, WiFi Compatibility, Wii Compatibility
Knowing more about which carts support those features and what they mean exactly might help me make a choice.
Some details on my use/wants:
-Games/ROMs - Looking for full compatibility for all types
-Slot 1
-Expandable
-Price doesn't matter
-SDHC support
-Don't care about GBA
-Fast and EASY to use Menu's for games
-EASY to use Drag and Drop games to load onto microSD
-Carts looking at: Edge, AceKard 2.1, M3 DS Real, CycloDS
