I know this probably goes into the CFW/flash card section of the forums, but I wanted to check here first. Stupid me accidentally deleted a random CTR title on the FBI loader on the nand setting. I restarted and all of a sudden I cannot run any cartridges. The cartridge shows up, but whenever I choose to play it I get a black screen. I wanted to post on here first to see if maybe it is something physically wrong with it.

I accidentally deleted CTR-P-CTAP on my nand thinking that it was some of the gba cias that installed there by mistake. Stupid me didn't look at the title id for the game before hand. Am I SOL?

Well if you still can boot into CFW or anything else to boot FBI, maybe you can reinstall it if you know the 3DNUS title?
Else, try to restore a NAND backup if you can boot into Gateway menu (I do hope you have one, people by now should now ALWAYS make a NAND backup)

Yeah, if you still can start FBI ... there might be some hope ;)
Are you sure though, that CTR-P-CTAP was the thingy you've accidentialy deleted?

"The product code CTR-P-CTAP is the default product code for NCCH files. So when a product code isn't assigned, this product code is usually used." (http://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Serials)

Your chances are reduced to hardware based modifications then, i fear :/

[EDIT]

I've got another idea now, but i really need to know the firmware you are running on your 3ds now. You might be able to use spider exploit (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Spider_exploit) to load a CFW, for example Cakesfw @ https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-cakesfw.391200/ (because this can write to sysnand and emunand depending on the configuration you are setting at the first startup of it).

You can try it by copying all the neccessary files for Cakesfw to your SDCard and using this launcher: http://dukesrg.no-ip.org/3ds/go2.html

If you are lucky you can then open FBI maybe?

If not ... you still could try to start gateway launcher (just download the launcher from their site "Firmware GW 3.4.1 Ultra" and via the downgrade option you might be successfully able to reflash the NAND backup you've hopefully made ;D

Of course it could fail so hard that the problem is even more serious ... but at least it might be an option to recover the device without going for hardware base modifications for the begining

Update: I managed to update the 3DS using the Majora's Mask cartridge. Fixed my nand and what not. Now I'm using the Gateway launcher on the browser to back up my nand.

Now i'm only asking myself how you've been able to start Majora's Mask from cartridge ... when you were not able to launch game cartridges ;)

Anyways ... creating a NAND backup is always a good idea ... and congratz for getting it fixed, of course :D

He launched the update, not the game.

Cart updates install before the game can be launched, so that's probably why.
I have noticed that the update partition on cartridges has the CTR-P-CTAP ID, so maybe it's used for something in the system too. Strange that there's no mention of it on 3dbrew though.
