I'm sorry if this is an idiotic question, but is it possible to get hacked Pokemon onto a copy of X or Y through Wondertrade or something of that sort? Also, if so, do the hacked Pokemon's file extensions have to be .bin or .pkx?

Apparently you can get a PKX from just going to normal trade over wifi and "showing" the pokemon without it being transferred.

Has anyone done this and know of a filter for wireshark?

Example: I have a Shiny Ditto and i show it to my brother over wifi trade. I sniff the whole thing. What filter would i use to find my shiny ditto that was not traded just shown?

Once i get the filter worked out it would make things more easy i have tones of shinys and stuff i could make PKX's of and share. Me and my brother have almost every pokemon between us so could supply almost anything on demand.

I used it to get the megastones IDs and some pkx files, the filter is frame.len == 407, pkx data is found on offset 0x93

Thanks will test this out when bro is awake. Shame nothing automatic was made to just log every pokemon shown into different .bin files with the names could have done this so much quicker.

If anyone wants to add me as a friend feel free also just PM yours so i can add back.

How do you get the Pokemon back into the game? IIRC, it is possible to get these hacked Pokemon back into the game through Wondertrade, but how? Also, to send them back, do they have to be in a .bin file or a .pkx?

yeah, the pokemon have to be in a .bin (encrypted) and you put the pokemon back in your game by packet injecting parts of your .bin file into the packet. Sounds easy but its fairly complicated and the checksum is hard to understand (well for me anyways)

How would I go about transfer to pc and then back to game? Is it fairly easy and how is it done? Sorry, don't know what the status is on this.
Ok so the only kinda working method in theory, is packet injecting your pokemon to a data packet and sending it to your game via wifi. In the future do not ask "noob" questions because this question was already answered and other questions you may have could of already been asked and answered.

Ok, thanks though :)

Hopefully in time we will have a better understanding of how this all works and may even find an easier way of doing it. Good things come in time :)

I have a spare wireless router. Would I be able to set it up as a hotspot for Wonder Trade?

With that, you are even able to user the automatic dumper.
Connect your extra router to your PC via Ethernet and then your 3DS to that same router so the data can go through your computer without any softAP.

Technically, cryptocurrencies aren't illegal, as long as you don't use it for criminal activity. If you sign up with an exchange, and that they get a tip from law enforcement, they have the right to freeze your assets.

Nigeria's central bank did make crypto illegal before, until last year they lifted the ban. Always make sure to check before you exchange. ;)

@SylverReZ, speaking of crypto i remember reading about a guy who spend like 10 grand bitcoin on a couple pizzas (when bitcoin wasnt as worthy as nowadays)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's mental. If he had saved up when Bitcoin sky-rocketed in price, then he might've become the next Jeff Bezos for all I know.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, he couldnt know the price was gonna skyrocket anyway

@Xdqwerty, Then it dropped sometime in 2022, 2021 was when it really went up in price.

@SylverReZ, I also recall watching a video of some failed games with their own crypto currency or smth like that, lemme link it to you (it's in spanish tho)

@Xdqwerty, I remember that. Didn't Steam ban games with NFTs before somehow devs managed to circumvent it? Think EA tried to dabble in NFTs too.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Glad to hear people realise that NFTs aren't worth it these days. They realise that they're JPEGs hosted on a file-hosting site like AWS or Google Drive.
