Hacking Pokemon X and Y Cartridge to Rom?

I'm trying to move my save from my cartridge to a rom or even just my computer to use PKhex to move my pokemon over onto my moon (rom). Does anybody know what methods I could use?.. I have a powersave dongle and access to gateway 3ds. Does my 3ds (or emunand) have to be firmware 9.0 in order to decrypt the save or is there another way now? Most of the methods seem to be outdated and I feel as if I'm out of luck :/?

In my experience cia installs won't work on gateway classic mode and does this actually work with Pokemon Y now or does it still break ?

So the CIA boots but now it says it's having trouble getting the cartridge info lol. Any suggestions? Idk how this has never been fixed

regarding jksm---install jksm, launch jksm, refresh game list, select SD/Cartridge, select "export save", name your save file, exit jksm, switch off 3DS, remove sd card, plug SD card to computer, open sd card on computer, select jksm/jksv folder, select save folder you just created earlier, open folder where your pokemon save is, the file "main" is your save file abd what you need, edit/use pkhex on that file..save when done, eject SD card from PC, reinsert to 3DS, switch ON 3DS, launch jksm, refresh game list , select pokemon game either cartridge or ROM, select import save, select your save file folder, if error occurs, launch the digital version once to initiate 3DS creating ext data on SD card, repeat steps, inject save..

I'm still just trying to get my save off of my physical cartridge. After I have a working rom I should be plenty capable of manipulating all of the save files using either JK or savfiler but this one step is just infuriatingly complicated and nobody seems to know how sadly

So I feel incredibly stupid as after several hours I understand what went wrong with all of it and I have finally gotten it working lol... For anyone in this oddly specific and old predicament, JKSM can in-fact make cartridge saves even from the infamously difficult Pokemon X and Y. In order for it to rip the save from the cartridge, make sure that the game has loaded while in Emunand and then it finally works.

jksm could export the save from the cartridge..as long as you got jksm installed you just have to launch the app on your 3DS..at least try to install jksm first, you will figure out what to do next..i've been importing/exporting save from my Yo-kai watch 2 game cartridge to my CIA countless of times, been using a save editor to get some holy exporb and that's what i did, same thing with pokemon Sun and Omega Ruby cartridge..

Thank you both so much for your help lol. I'm a little out of the modding scene but got back in for Sun and Moon lol. Obviously it works and the reason I couldn't find tutorials for it was because of how trivial it was haha.
