Okay, I have 2 quick questions.

1.) When you get your starter Pokemon, does it start with 0 EV's in all stats ?
2.) How do IV's affect the stats ?

Yes it starts with 0 EVs.

The HP IV's bonus is determined in this formula.

All over IVs use this one.

Yes, but only someone who does competitive play should actually care. I know about IV and EV, but since I don't play multiplayer, I don't care, since the main game can be completed easily by only using the starter fire pokemon.
