Is it true the battle sequences are faster then Pearl/Diamond?

They seem faster to me. The first battle it really showed. There have been a few spots where it felt slow, but the majority of it feels fast.

Really? Great news, this is one of the reasons I stopped playing Diamond.

I don't think M3 Simply/R4 supports 512KB+ Saves. At a certain point in the game, Platinum requires more than 512KB to save. M3 Simply/R4 don't support that so the request gets rejected. The game will save normally but when you come to load it again you will get 1 of 2 errors depending on when you saved.

1) If you saved as soon as the game started then saved at around the first rival battle, when you boot it up the next time it will load at your first save(as soon as the game started).
2) If you never saved before and saved for the first time around the first rival battle, when you boot it up the next time you will get an error saying: "The save data has been corrupted or erased" *game starts over*
Note please that the above errors is not the same as "The save data could not be accessed..."

I've been getting both errors and so I ordered an Acekard 2.1 just in case.

Some people say that if you save TWICE you don't get any errors but I haven't tried.

Yay I actually BOUGHT the game beforehand and picked it up today!

The person at my GameStop said I could keep the Pokemon Platinum display stand if I wanted, but there's nowhere to put it. D: It was empty by the way, which means I made the right choice.

As for the 1MB save problem, my R4 hasn't had any problems - patch your kernel (forget which patch) then make a blank 1MB save using Dummy File Creator or something and rename. Play. It works. I tried with the Jap Platinum. Beat the game 100%. NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER.
