Extract PKM files from your DP save using Pokesav DP (save button next to each Pokemon) then load them into Platinum boxes using Pokesav Platinum.

This will not add the Pokedex entries for the Pokemon you transfer - solution to this is to use Pokesav to create and hatch an egg of the Pokemon.

So far,
w/ YSMENU i've noticed problems.
i got the "save file corrupted" once when i didnt do much.
then, i soft-reseted the game and the save file was corrupted again.
so, just a warning, DO NOT SOFT-RESET WITH YSMENU FOR PLATINUM.
also, save twice it saves you a lot of trouble ^^

They seem faster to me. The first battle it really showed. There have been a few spots where it felt slow, but the majority of it feels fast.

As soon as you make it to oreburgh you can get your friend code to battle people with. You go into the pokemon center and go down the right stairs and talk to the nurse next to the entrance to connect to wifi and battle.
