Do you consider a homepass relay to be a legitimate way of obtaining an Eon Ticket in Pokemon: ORAS?

*it's *you're

If it's so damn easy to block a SKY3DS you code it then!
I'm not on Nintendo's payroll so thats not my job to do so.

I guess correcting punctuation is all the trolling you got left. I'd run out of material too if I was trying to claim an unofficial software was official.

They could also easily block Sky3DS and powersaves too if they wanted, but since they arent attempting to do so its legitimate.

I'm fully aware how whitelisting works. I would also recommend to you to look into read/write speeds and checksums, if your interested to see how Sky3DS can be blocked.

Really? cause Nintendo never said it themselves.

Your punctuation has been irking me since the begining, but I tried to suppress my Grammar Nazi.

Quit being difficult, it's very unbecoming of a young man.

If you're a company as big as Nintendo you have to take into account how much time, money and effort you want to devote into anti-piracy research. This last update? Boy what a doozy, stopping downgrades and homebrew almost as if they don't want you to do it?

@Monty Kensicle
It would be in Nintendo's interest to thwart piracy as soon as possible, hardware sales alone barely cover the cost of R&D on a system so yes they will do whatever means nessesary to stop piracy. But since its a functioning piece of hardware on the latest update then its legitimate. Your words not mine.

When did I ever say that? Nintendo has tried to block Sky3DS in the past, so they don't want you to use it is my understanding. Just because they're too incompetent to block it doesn't mean they won't try other things (Like the new AP on future games)

Since they never did the same to Homepass I guess they don't care either way about it.

I'm not avoiding the fact that it hasnt been attempted to be stopped but because it still functions it would mean its a legitimate device.

Also this is the 3rd time I've quoted this to you.

When has Nintendo ever tried to break Homepass with a system update? That's right never. The other things you're equating it to on the other hand, (Cheating, and Piracy) Nintendo has made a concerted effort to curb. Which would imply they don't want it happening yes?

So if it doesnt break its legitimate right? Sky3DS and Powersaves fall into this rule/logic.

You can't conflate the SKY3DS and powersaves with Hompass. They serve entirely different functions.

And how many times do you need people to tell you that they have attempted to block Sky with AP-measures in games? You ignore others just as often as they do you.

Anyway, you're really picking a stupid thing to argue. Homepass is in no way, shape or form altering game data. It's a relay that allows people to use streetpass, a feature that largely favors high population density areas, regardless of whether they live in an area where others are also trying to use streetpass. The data sent is identical to what you'd receive from a regular streetpass because, get this, it's the same damn thing.

Nintendo doesn't care, because to them it's a streetpass. I don't care, because I don't care about you. Nobody cares, because the legitimacy of a streetpass is honestly the silliest thing in the world.

How they function has never been the argument in the first place, its whether its legitimate/official or not and since its never been approved by Nintendo it is not legit.

Not hard to understand but some people.....

I'm not ignoring anything

Sky3DS still works so its as legitimate as homepass is. Doesnt matter how it interacts with a game if it wasnt declared as the intended way.

I never said that Homepass was legitimate! I said it wasn't illegitimate.

Why can't Homepass be somewhere in the middle?

Well, Homepass is real, accepted (In so much as no releases by Nintendo have tried to inhibit it in anyway. Which is not the same situation as Sky3DS), and there appear to be no rules or laws from Nintendo prohibiting it's use... So... Yeah...

Homepass isn't tricking the 3DS. It isn't circumventing the anti-piracy measures or security that Nintendo put in place. It isn't even altering data sent to the 3DS. It's just sending the same data that you'd see in a normal streetpass.

I never denied it was real, but its in no way accepted or approved of by Nintendo.

Its strange how all you defenders dont have a shred of evidence to suggest its legitimate. Must be because its not legitimate.

You are aware that "or" means it only has to apply to one of those things, correct?

The only real question is, is this explicitly against Nintendo's terms of service? Find the single point stating that you can't use something along the lines of Homepass to pass completely legitimate and unaltered data (Which it is) to the 3DS and you'll have won your argument. If you can't, you lost.

I'm not the one claiming its a legitimate use of streetpass, thats on all you defenders to back your claim.

I've posted numerous sources what are legitimate and approved methods to obtaining streetpass, I suggest you dont skim and read carefully. You might learn something.

For all intents and purposes Homepass is identical to Streetpass relay. It's like the store-brand of mustard.

No, that isn't how this works. The majority claim is it's legitimate. Your claim is it isn't. The burden is on you to prove the majority wrong.

Your other option is to continually post some links, accuse people of ignoring the things you say, and vehemently defend the virtue of Streetpass.

Your cherry picking to fit your argument. Something either is or is not legitimate.

Nintendo has never once regarded homepass as a means to obtain streetpass, but feel free to keep trying.

The majority could be for pirating but does that make it a legitimate way to obtain games? Thats a fallacy right there.

I didnt make a topic asking for a legitimate way to obtain an ingame item, but someone suggested for a way to obtain the item unofficially. Its on you guys to prove yourselves.

Or keep backpedaling and defending something unofficial, either way I'm entertained to see what you come up with.
