That's what I think too. Encrypting does nothing as I wrote in a previous post. Check my bold in post 579 and see if you can get HGSS to start up similarly in desmume.

edit: I didn't see the part where you said emulating swi doesn't do anything. Beats me then, all I know is, I've played till the first gym without any probs. Maybe I was just lucky.

Wow, I can't believe how desperate some people are for a fix for this game. Don't get me wrong, I want the game fixed as well, but I can wait... hopefully. :S
