I just patched my SS rom with the Spanish anti freeze patch. I'm gonna run 24 events and see what happens.

i would ask that ne1 who has the rom dumper to begin looking through each of the files individualy with a hex editor not just deleting random files cause that will only cause you greater problems

Ok I'm not sure if this has been covered yet, because there is no way im reading through 100+ pages, For R4 users: I have noticed that if you have soft reset turned off it can help with freezing quite a fair bit, I am in no way saying this is an absolute fix, But thought I would share it with others

Ok I'm not sure if this has been covered yet, because there is no way im reading through 100+ pages, For R4 users: I have noticed that if you have soft reset turned off it can help with freezing quite a fair bit, I am in no way saying this is an absolute fix, But thought I would share it with others

anyways, back at 15 pages or so, I tried to beat the AP that kicks in every 2,3 events after you b eat Whitney.
My method worked, but afterwards I found something interesting:

which is, it's not Whitney, and it's not the 3rd Badge.
It's actually: when the player has 3 badges, the AP system will kick in at every 2 events.
After getting my 4th badge, I had 3 badges total (took off the third badge so the game wouldn't hang)
turns out it started freezing like crazy again.
So I took out the 1st two badges and just kept the 4th one for surfing.

I guess with what i'm doing, I can still play the game, but would only be able to carry 2 badges at all times.
The only problem is with the HM's
the 4th badge is most important, as it allows SURF
I think the 2nd is CUT?
5th is WATERFALL

So far, I can keep 2 badges and still advance my game. I'll see when i'll hit a point where i totally need 3 badges.

before i go to the bed
i run the french HG to test the AP in there
and after 40 mins of gameplay (starting from zero) the game crash, and freeze while the music continue
it´s frozee after win the rival´s battle and before return to dr elm lab with the mistery egg
i´ve running the game in a supercard ds one with EOS loader

Simply.... AKAIO is amazing and don´t want to share his "greatness" with anyone. Sounds fair to me... the autor is working very hard on that unofficial firmware. Hope that he countinue.

So Akaio does not want to release the information? Thats dumb, but no one knows how he did it?
Also if you use the hex editor which file do you think mabye giving off the problems?

I used pokesav to take off all the badges I had in my J save which then allowed me to load it on U. However; the game still does freeze after a certain number of events, and playing without badges does mean no HM's. Since this is the case it seems that even if a fix involving badges were developed it would have to set the badges to some sort of negative number... Which I don't think is possible. Therefore it seems like the best areas for research would be where the actual counter is located in the file and how to keep the number on the counter high so that the game can't freeze. Another possibility is removing the check altogether but that sounds a lot harder. That being said I'm pretty sure no progress will be made until someone who actually knows what they are doing starts working on this.

Um yes I'm sure. DSi 1.4, Acekard 2i running AKAIO 1.6RC1. Was battling the elder in Sprout Tower and right after I clicked "Fight" the battle music kept playing but it was frozen, the same crash as everyone else.

if anyone wants the AceKard 2i, there is a cheap site to get them from with free shipping, I just brought mine yesterday, they are also under the trusted resellers of the official AceKard website, so there is no worry about being screwed, I got mine for 26.50 AU, the only thing is that it doesnt come with the sd card reader, but if you are all already using an R4, then you already have the reader, go to google and type in Bamboo Gaming, it should be the first one
