Gaming Pokémon Heart Gold WiFi Problems

So yeah, i recently got me some WiFi. I've played all kinds of things online just fine, but for some reason, i can't have a battle online. I've tried all sorts of things, even turning my firewall completely off. It gets to just before the battle, and then gives me an error and disconnects.

Is there anything i should be doing to stop this?

I have a similar problem on Soul silver. I get a communication error when I try to trade locally with an original cart.

I have the same problem with soulsilver.
Everytime I try to battle in WiFi mode my screen turns black and then it disconnects me.

I gave up and play Pokemon Platinum now

I have the same problem on my original Heart gold cart. I can do everything in the wifi plaza, but if I try to trade or battle, i get kicked out -.-
