Hacking Pokemon Heart Gold - can't save file

Hi I'm trying to get Pokemon Heart Gold going on my R4, but I have had no success with getting a working Heart Gold. I'm on Wood R4 1.42 firmware and the rom I used was "Rudolph's Child Play Patched" Pokemon Heart Gold rom.

Do I have to do something with the settings or is it just hard to find a working rom?

Wood R4 is supposed to be able to play HG/SS fine without having to use any AP patch.
Try a clean rom. If that doesn't work, re-dump from your original cartridge again.

I just tried a clean rom, same problem. It sends me to the screen with "Adventure Info Needed", "No Info Needed" and all of that stuff instead of the Save File and New Game.

Have you actually attempted to finish the intro and save in-game?

Yeah that was what I meant the entire time, sorry about that. The in-game save says "Save completed" and what not, but it never gives me the chance to load it after the intro.

Try formatting your micro sd card with the panasonic sd formatter (guide here). NOTE: back-up everything before formatting.

Always try a clean rom before trying a patched one.

I completely reformatted already, I erased everything in my R4 and installed a WoodR4 1.42. I tried both clean and patched. >_

Simple ....just use retro's(a cool tempar) gamefanmulticart update and you are good to go....play the latest games
