Gaming Pokemon gen 4 which to play

I want to play a gen 4 pokemon game but I dont know if I should play Diamond/Pearl (one or the other) OR if I should play Platinum.

NOT Soul Silver or Heart Gold.

Play Platinum. It's an updated version of Diamond and Pearl. List of changes from Diamond and Pearl to Platinum can be found here.

Ok sure, but I don't count those. They are Gen 2 remakes in the Gen 4 engine.

If you can find it original and with Pokewalker, the remakes of course!

Anyway, of the Sinnoh games, I've only played Diamond and some parts of Platinum (the early game and the Giratina part).

Not unlike generations 1-5, they're best enjoyed by playing one of the paired versions then some time later the 3rd;
but if you just want one, get Platinum - it has more overall content like every 3rd version, and in this specific generation it even fixes some "slowdown" (not as in lag, more as in intended speed - like being able to run in gatehouses)
