Recently I system transferred a stock 3ds to my cfw new3ds. I got freeshop again and decided to get some of my games back but only non-pokemon games are working. I downloaded Mario Kart 7, Super Mario Maker, and Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World. Those all work. But when I download Pokemon sun, moon, or alpha sapphire they all start with the 3ds logo on the top screen, then both screens become black. I can press A then it sends me back to the home screen.

I'm hoping to fix this before the new Pokemon games come out.

Fixed it again by formatting. I think this thread should be deleted or closed.

Do you mean you deleted everything on your sd card?

I used decrypt9 to format with emunand.
And how did you go about doing that?

By format, do you mean you just wiped the ad card or did you do additional things with it?

are you sure its just pokemon games ?
It is for me. I saw something about extended ram games so it could be that also.

I somehow figured it out. I don't know where I found this tutorial to update Luma, but it had me end up with another boot file named boot0.firm. Once I removed that (along with nearly everything else in a fit of frustration and rage), it started to work. I narrowed it down to the original boot.firm and boot.3dsx files.
