Did you have to use OoT or Cubic Ninja? I don't have either and was you scared you would brick your new 3ds? Because I got mine from gamestop and I'm kinda scared that if I brick it they can't replace it.

If it's on 10.3 (actually 10.5 but you can't directly downgrade on it) or under, and you set Tubehax DNS immediately, you can do the full downgrade using only Browserhax!
If it's new and you fully brick it (black screen only) you could actually have an easier time returning it... do you know about the bathtub curve? (electronics usually break very early or very late)

It isn't the xl. The speaker grills are arranged in a plus sign pattern for the xl, it is just the lighting.

Just be careful to only semi brick then lol if you.update the console and just explain to them how it won't read your games they will exchange it

after like 50 tries, i managed to get sysupdater to actually start the downgrade. errored somewhere near the beginning. claimed it was on 9.2, but menuhax stopped working. suprisingly, i still had browserhax funtioning, so i kept trying. after another 20 tries, im now on 9.2 dumping my sysnand, getting ready to set up emunand

Well, today I got an email from the pokemon trainer club, telling me about the new console and informing me it IS A LIMITED EDITION.
Gee, thanks for letting me know more than half a week late.
Guess I'll just chalk this up with the other things I will never own, since I'm not paying those asshats that buy them in bulk to resell for 100$ or more.

Ugh I wish i knew this BEFORE i bought a new one -_-;; i went with one that should get here around monday thats 9.2. The guy downgraded it successfully
