Ok, well I haven't been following the Wii hacking community lately (the last thing I did on my Wii was softmod my v3.2 Wii), so as you'd expect I'm a bit confused with all of the things available now.
So basically, I'm trying to update my Wii to 4.2, and have some questions.
1. I'm following the guide here --> http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 -- and it demonstrates a way to update the console offline. Can I just go to the System Update on the Wii and install the latest update from the internet instead of updating offline like the guide says? I'd like to start fresh and not have any of the BackupLaunchers or HBC's installed so I can just install all the ones from the files from the guide. How do I get rid of all my 3.2 homebrew files so I can do a clean update?
2. Referring to the guide above, if I just do a clean OTA update and wipe everything off my Wii so it's virginized and has no hacks/ custom IOS's at all, can I just start the guide from the Modify Wii section?
3. What mods do people use nowadays instead of Starfall? Basically something that stops forced system updates via disk?
Thanks
