PlayStation won't be attending PAX East due to Coronavirus concerns, cans The Last of Us II demo
As COVID-19, or "coronavirus" concerns spreads across China, Sony is taking health safety to heart, even in the United States. Originally scheduled for a booth at this year's PAX East event in Boston, Massachusetts, PlayStation has cancelled their appearance at the show, citing that they will no longer be attending due to coronavirus concerns. This means that the first public hands-on demo of The Last of Us II will no longer be available, nor will any of their other planned demos, such as Nioh 2, Iron Man VR, and other titles. For the companies still attending the event, PAX East will begin on February 27th.
UPDATE: Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern.
