Hacking Playing Wii games on a Wii U gamepad alone

Hi guys,

I recently installed the Homebrew Channel on my Wii U in Wii mode, and I was wondering, has anyone ever attempted to get the Wii U gamepad to have more use in Wii mode besides as an alternate screen? I'm mainly just using the Homebrew Channel on here to play emulators, and it would be awesome to be able to play any emulated SNES, Sega Genesis, or another classic system's games with the Wii U gamepad instead of a Wii remote or Wii remote & Classic Controller or Nunchuk...but if that just cannot be done, then it's completely understandable.

Oh well, thanks guys.

I'm just glad I prepared myself in advance for this...earlier this month I ordered an AC/DC adapter and Wii remote insert from teachwithtech to let me use my Wii remote without having to worry about running out of battery power or needing a recharge from my Wii remote charge station, so it's going to be pretty exciting to receive it in the mail when it does come.
