Hacking pimp my wii Help

Hi all,

I was trying to install ciosxrev20 and i selected ios249 it was asking me what IOS to in stall and i got totally confused.
I also tried Hermes Installer v5 and that got me confused as well.

Some posts pointed to pimp my wii, so i used it followed the prompts for auto fix and when it was all done it gave a error re IOS50.

that it couldnt repair it. Is IOS50 crucial for USb/Loading?

Is it better that i use ciosxrev20 and hermes seperately that pimp my wii or was it ok if i used it?
