Any way that I can edit my save game?

I saw a thread a while back where someone edited their save in hex editor (which I'm totally up for) and that's all I can find.

This game's difficulty is ridiculous and way too grindy :///

The game is really easy and Grinding is even easier once you unlock the quest to unlock a "special" shadow at the end of every dungeon.

really? because leveling up takes forever for my characters and a minimum of 2 battles can wipe my whole party

That's weird, if you are new to the series, just fuse and get rid of weak demons, use the demons that share or are close to the level of your MC and that would be it.

I've beaten persona 4 to 100% completion and i've grazed persona 3, I'm just not used to having EVERYONE use different personas :/

Er.. Persona Q is relatively more difficult than prior Persona games. Mostly due to the fact that gameplay isn't the same. I remember jumping into Persona Q confused, as dungeons were really different.

I didn't find it difficult, even when the dungeons are different the battles are almost the same to the main series. I've seen people struggle with SMT games because they go with a "Pokémon" mentality, that you stick with your monsters because you like them. I thought that was the case for the OP

In order to use a hex editor to edit a save, you'd have to dump your save, which would mean you have some kind of CFW or flashcart, right? In that case, why don't you use Gateway's new cheat function or NTR's cheat plugin? If a save editor hasn't been released for this game yet, it probably won't ever get released, since I imagine most people who cared (like myself) beat the game several months ago.

Wait, is that really a thing? I would have never beaten any of the Persona games with that sort of mentality, lol!

Yeah... people make silly connections like that. "Oh, I collect different demons? Well then it must be exactly like Pokemon! Faceroll time!"
omg lol. Only time when I refer Persona to Pokemon is when I'm trying to explain the game to someone who's never heard of it.

I mostly say that Persona is like a mature version of Pokemon.

What else is NTR for?
It allows you to play out of region games, and I specifically use it so I can run my games faster. (Most 3DS games run at the normal 3DS clock speed, even on the n3DS. But with a plugin I use, you can change that so it runs with the n3DS clock speed, thus making older games run better and load faster.)

Oh cool, but like if i run a game that i got from "that one site" will it let me run it, because i thought NTR was against all the jazz?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
