Gaming PC Games: You Buy or Pirate?

I recommend buying.

It's too easy for the company to trace you on a PC, so I only pirate old games.

the only pirated games I have are StarCraft and Homeworld. everything else I buy, and I'm happy

Some of the newest EA published PC games (Mirror's Edge, Burnout Paradise) will work online with a cracked DVD key. Which is really weird.

Games like that are Portal, Half Life2 and Left 4 Dead.

I only play source games as VALVe makes them so GOOD!

Dont bother pirating Team Fortress 2 as cracked servers always have /b/tards and douches. They ruined Orangex4 24/7

TF2 was so good i just bought it and with the scout update coming out you should try it for free, right?

Starcraft, L4D, TF2 (pirated, then bought for real), portal, etc.

Unless its A HUGE GAME *cough*Left 4 Dead *cough*, I won't buy it.

I usually buy online games, or when I can really get a great deal (I bought Counterstrike Complete Pack off Steam for $15 on a weekend deal, and Orange Box for $30). If it's a single-player game, I usually pirate. I pirated Spore out of spite.

Oh yeah, I also DL old games that don't compare keys to some list to see if it's been used (so I can play online)

Generally, the only pro to buying a PC game is for the online gameplay.

Also, you get tech support, you support the company that worked hard to make the game (not to mention the developers), and you don't break the law.
People like you are the reason PC Gaming is going down teh tubes.

I always download my games. They are too expensive to buy + most of them are not even worth the money.

varies. i bought starcraft, diablo ii, the witcher, various steam games, etc. pirated spore, latest need for speed, a lot of older games.

i pirate when it's hard to find or has really gay DRM built in. i also pirate as a try before you buy type thing.

if a game is deserving, i'm more than happy to give the developers my money. everything on my consoles (25+) is legit.

And you can enter anything in the CD key box and it will work no matter what XD

I used to pirate PC games a lot, but didn't end up getting around to playing them. Now I buy my games on Steam. If it's not available on Steam, I won't buy it. They have a sale every weekend, and due to that I've never had to pay full price for anything that I've bought. The convenience of being able to simply download my Steam games on any computer and play them is unmatched.

I also use GOG for some of the old classics that I either didn't keep around, or that got corrupted/lost over the years.

So what... At least my mouse doesn't suck balls now and people can hear me and I have some really fun games. If I bought the monitor, I would still have the same old games. No one could here me. My mouse would randomly go to the corners. Major improvement, huh?!
