    Hello everyone!

Some people were wondering how to run unofficial channels via SD Menu on their Wii U's vWii, and why they currently could not, and the answer is simply, the same answer as on regular Wii: The System Menu IOS has to have the signature check patched out.

And so, I have modified IOS236 Installer MOD to install a patched IOS80 instead.
It only applies the one needed patch (not 5 like IOS236 Installer MOD does).

Just run it on vWii from SD card via HBC.

WARNING! THIS APP MODIFIES vWii's SYSTEM MENU IOS! RISK LEVEL "ORANGE" ACCORDING TO THIS THREAD! (which you should READ FIRST)
vWii CURRENTLY HAS NO RECOVERY OPTIONS SUCH AS BootMii, SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I have only tested it on 1 Wii U (several times though), my USA "Guinea-Pig" Wii U...
...and it was successful every time :D

But it is still risky, just like any other System Mod.

    Anyways, here you go.

    Enjoy!

So is this a fix for some Virtual Console WADs not being able to be launched from the SD card menu if you installed them yourself? Or not quite.

Yes i got it working on my vWii cause i could launch the wads or channels but ONLY if i had launched them first on the Wii Menu, now i can install whatever and just send it to SD Card if its too big for vWii xD, Anyone knows if vWii is still 512 MB like real Wii memory? Good day people!

Sorry for the bumo, but has anyone tried LostWinds yet?

Nintendo and Frontier are pretty quiet about the transfer for the last 6 months...

If you can find a WAD of the game and install it, it should work unless it requires a IOS that vWii lacks.
why not try installing the wad on your own vWii?

EDIT: I will try installing a WAD of it and see if it works on my vWii then I will post back whether it worked or not.

Also, patched IOS80 is only required to run fakesigned channels from SD Card. fakesigned channels will work with a non patched IOS80(System Menu IOS) as long as they are not copied to or from a SD Card.

VC/WiiWare wads are fakesigned. the IOS80 Patch is for allowing them to run when copied to a SD Card and run via the SD Card menu.

In short, all you need is a WAD manager and a wad of the game to play them. there is no need to patch IOS80 to launch fakesigned channels from the Wii Menu.

as far as I can tell, the game installs and runs, which means that the game should work the same as it would on a regular Wii.

I got to the main menu and was prompted to attach a nunchuck...if only i could find mine :/

I installed it (I used this wad,
    Code:
    [008]Lost.Winds.WiiWare.USA.WII.REGIONFREE.wad SHA-1:95ACAE874431AE37CD8D7C3E3B1FF4E8EF295FE8
the one upped to MF to be exact ) via YAWMM-DE.

Using your own dumped wad should work fine as long as you zero out the ticket ID and fakesign it.
(this is what I would do if I had a Wii with this game on it)
