Partition A Volume

I'm trying to install Vista because somehow I f***d up windows xp, my comp just makes a beeping sound(so annoying lol).
I only have a dvd of vista, no xp..
I would like to create a partition before installing vista to not touch at all the current data(I know vista make a Windows.old)
Does anybody have a program that would boot from cd to create a partition?

Does it go past bios because if it doesn't it is a video card error. If it is a messed up portion i suggest you use Gparted.

Partition Magic requires a useable OS, I don't have access to any OS right now

I think you have to pay for partition magic. Gparted is open source and easy to set up the partions. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php

Burn a boot disk with gparted, has worked for me on loads of drives/setups.

Wait, what do you mean by the computer makes a beeping noise? Listen to AJ421: if it's while the black startup screens are showing (well before Windows loads) and it's a loud, obnoxious beeping noise it has *nothing* to do with Windows or your hard drive partitions, it's a hardware fault.

The beeps are something they call Bios error codes, and the pattern of the beep noises will hint at what's really wrong with your computer. See http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml for more info.

beeping noises indicate some kinda of bios or hardware failure / malfunction.
it's not going to have to do with the fact you installed vista.

Get a MiniPE or BartPE disk from a torrent and use that, it is a live enviroment that will run without an OS or even a HDD, and have Partition Magic and many other useful computer fixing apps on it

How many times does it beep?

Does it boot anything at all now (e.g. knoppix, ubuntu, you-name-it), because beeping sounds rather like a hardware error.

Please tell us a bit more about this, what is the output, error, etc?
