Pandora to cost $500
Private Page Reveals a Truth?
2q367nkpandorablah092384js.jpg

The Pandora may cost $499.99 after pre-orders have ended. The "private page" discovered by a secret ninja spy reveals an order form for parts and a much more expensive Pandora system. There is no information linking to a justification for the raised cost and the page itself may just be a test page with dummy information. We are asking, is the Pandora worth $500 USD? Contribute to the discussion and let us know your thoughts.

The Pandora is not worth $500.
I could purchase a decent laptop that does everything the Pandora does for $500.

Seriously? I wasn't thinking of getting one at $300, I can't certainly see me buying one for $500, since the hardware is also starting to get old...

I guess I'll pass on the Pandora. That's a shame, since the controls were really good for almost every emulator out there, and the keyboard was a must-have for textual games or computer emulators.

Oh well, I hope a (cheaper) similiar project will surface in the future

thanks for that link.

so basically they are looking for a reason to ask the community for a $200 donation per item because they didn't understand how difficult it would be to build a new system from the ground up. honestly, $500 is a bit much for what the pandora is and what it can do. asking for an extra $50 is more reasonable. i know people that waited almost a year to get their pandora, i don't think speeding up production is a valid excuse. it sounds like they are using production speed as another reason for asking for a bump in the price. the question is, will they just bump the price for 7 day orders or will the future of the pandora (batch 3) be $500. or is this all a scare to get a bunch of $350 pre-orders placed.

Honestly, the pandora has been outdated before it has even been released.

its a matter of opinion. my first system was the atari 2600, so the pandora plays just about anything i want. i honestly don't care for the style of games released after the ps1. the pandora is a perfect fit for someone like me.

I agree. It does everything I would want it to do but I just couldn't justify spending $500 on it.

You could find a laptop that fits in your pocket with keyboard and gaming controls and a 14 hour battery life for $500? If you know of one then please share!

Well if it was cheaper i would agree. But 500 dollars for just emulation, that you could do on say, any android phone or iphone or Dingoo or W/E is just wrong.
