I am trying to install A9LH with soundhax (following 3ds.guide/pailects' guide). but the otherapp payload doesnt exist on smealums hblauncher site.

firmware:
OLD11.0.0-0E no browser.

I have tried it with 11.0.0-7E but that doesnt work.

Hi, maybe try with -999 ? Btw don't forget to rename it to "otherapp.bin" and make sure there's no a ".bin.bin" at the end of the file (to make sure enable extension files viewing)

That firmware means you updated with a cart. The problem with this is that the sound app is not included with cart updates so your system still has the 1.0 version. This version is not supported by soundhax.

In this case you'll need another primary entrypoint, since you're on Old 3ds you can't use smashhax so I think you're gonna need the help of a 2nd person who can inject a payload into an exploitable game. Look at 3dbrew to know which games are supported on 11.0
Edit : If ever you got a powersafe and OOT 3D you can still try to inject the exploit into the cartridge

I bought the 3ds of of someone. they probably updated with a card. would it be possible to update with a cart again to a higher version? I think I have a cart with 11.2.

Sure, but the problem is that I think you'll still won't be able to use it, but you can give it a try, just remember that 11.2 has less primary entrypoints than 11.0

No cart has the sound app so it won't help. You need a cart based exploit game like ninjhax, smashbroshax, or zelda oot.

Soundhax is completely out of the picture unless you internet update to 11.3 and that, of course, kills cfw installation.

is the system transfer still an option? I have 2 other 3ds's with the right specs for the system transfer exploit.
otherwise I'll just use an exploitable game.

Not possible because nintendo verifies that both of your console before the transfer (that means that if you can't spoof the firmware version through homebrew, you can't).
But hey, you got other hacked 3ds's so if you got an exploitable game, such as sticker star or oot 3d inject it from your other 3ds, and then launch it from the other one.
Btw look at http://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Exploits and http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

sticker star you say, I have that. where can I find a guide how to use exploitable games? never used that way before.

I think there's a signed devmen cia out in the wild that can install system titles (and only system titles). You could theoretically sys transfer that (with the help of ctr-httpwn) and use it to install a soundhax compatible sound app version. I haven't heard of anyone doing this though, so it remains a theory.

(or you could transfer steel diver with a hacked save which is a much better idea lol).

Look at smealum's website, choose sticker star everything you'll need to download and do is right in it ;-)
Edit : If you got the 3ds starter pack from smea it's in your homebrews list

I dont think ill be using that then, I have a exploitable gamecart and another a9lh 3ds so I'll be using that.

Yep do this in last resort it's longer and riskier
sorry or bothering again, but sploit_installer_stickerhax isnt showing up in the homebrew launcher. I just downloaded the newest hblauncher_loader and the newest start.zip.

It probably won't transfer. You can't system transfer legit CIAs so I can't imagine a signed dev CIA would be any different.

So I now have a hacked save file on the sticker star game cartridge. but! the homebrewlauncher crashes when it says: 'ropbin is ready'. my guess that it is trying to download the ropbin payload but it cant find it because of the firmware version. (which is 11.0.0-0E and is not available on smealums site.)

NVM ALL OF THAT: I accidently put in the wrong version in the sploit installer.
