ROM Hack Opening a nds game?

Anyone got a program to open up nintendo ds games to view their files?

Use these two in conjunction. kiwi.ds does the same job as both of these tools combined. Not sure about Tahaxan.

For the Pokemon games you will probably need a different tool as the files don't have names and most tools don't support them. narctool will work but is command line only.

What Jdbye said but I will also add Crystaltile2 ( http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/utilities/download-crystaltile2-20100906-f23649.html -- open the game in it and click the little DS icon on the top right of the menus) and ndstool ( http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/utilities/download-nintendo-ds-rom-tool-ndstool-1501-f29352.html , command line but a simple batch file to extract and reopen are easy to make) to the mix. Tahaxan and kiwi.ds' ndseditor are OK but not what I would really suggest for day to day use, if you want a general hacking tool than crystaltile2 was already linked and I will also suggest tinke http://gbatemp.net/threads/tinke-0-7-2.303529/

Bin is a generic extension and can be used by many things across computing.

If you mean the overlay_????.bin and ARM9.bin and ARM7.bin files then not as such -- technically they are the binaries (the code the processor well processes) and though they may contain additional data (I have certainly fished out all types of data from them over the years) they tend not to have an additional filesystem. There are tools to start helping decode them (for a start crystaltile2 features a disassembler window) but that is a different type of hacking altogether.
