Wow, you sound like you know a lot; why don't you go ahead and do it yourself? :rofl2:
What a spoiled kid...

And there is actually a WAY of modifying the config.ini values from the console itself; just boot on GodMode9, go to the file location and edit it with the included Hex editor.
I do it all the time to change brightness and scaling settings and it only take seconds to do so.
They got so roasted that they deleted their account ;O;

To my knowledge, GodMode9's hex editor can't insert or delete bytes. So for example, if you wanted to change the brightness from a two digit value to a three digit one, you wouldn't be able to do that with this tool.

Not a big deal, Just make the brightness value a 3 digit one with a text editor in a computer (adding a 0 at the beginning), it just has to be done once...

So you can change it from 012-142 in GM9 ;)

Would that cause the number to be seen as octal instead of decimal? :P
You can see them in both ways. ;)

Hello,
I tried to increase backlight by editing the config.ini file :
[general]
backlight=117
but the backlight is still very low. I am using an old 2DS. Am I doing something wrong ?

Is it still updating? Something that needs this payload is the option of change the rom without turn off the console

yes, some changes have been made recently. I think they're still updating it. however, that would be a nice thing to have. :)

Technically, OAF is using the GBA hardware inside your 3DS. You can't switch ROMs on a GBA flashcart unless you reboot the console (or the flashcart reboots the console).
What I guess OAF could actually do, is
find a way to reboot the console and boot into OAF automatically, without having to turn off the console and manually booting the FIRM again.

@godreborn Curious where does OAF store game saves? Say i want to extract the save of a game i played with OAF, is the process the same as when using a VC title (which is done within GM9)?
TiA! :D
Not sure. I haven't really played open agb firm, just checked if it worked through fast boot.

Oh my god thank you to the people in this thread that have explained how to change the scaling in the config. The bilinear option has made Pokemon Emerald look so smooooth on a bigger screen :yay3ds:

Hi! I'll use this message to ask you another question, since my original issue was solved apparently on its own.

I love playing on my N2DS, but the bilineal filter makes the image blurry enough to be noticeable, and the no-filter mode is too rough. I've been thinking about getting an original 2DS exclusively for GBA games. My thinking is that the smaller screen, although having the same resolution as any other 3DS model, will do a better job at "hiding" the effects of the upscaling to the GBA image. Is this correct?

I've tried looking for some videos of people playing GBA on an o2DS, but there are very few of those and they don't show a clear image of how the game looks on it. Can anyone give me some feedback on this, or maybe even a pic or a video, before I pull the trigger on a console?

Thanks!

Hi! First post here.

I'm having a bit of an issue with OAF. I'm trying to test the different scaling methods, but I can't get them to work. I started by using the latest compiled version posted here (Jan. 5) and switching the Scaler to 0, 1 and 2 in the config file, but nothing changes.

Then I tried using three different config files and chaning them via Quick Switcher... doesn't work either.

OK, so, I went back to the builds posted before the implementation of the Scaler setting in the config file. Tried the one with 1:1 scaling... nothing.

What am I doing wrong? The screen scaling refuses to change, and I feel the gamma settings are not being taken into account either.
Edit: Nevermind, it's now working. Somehow. I swear I didn't change anything else, but it's now working :)
I thought the same thing and bought a used O2DS. I haven't tried OAF yet but using NSUI injects I wasn't impressed at all. Especially after playing my actual GBA carts on a DS Lite, which is super crisp and bright. From my experience, if you want visual quality, go the DS route, or emulation. The RG351V has served me well for GBA games. Considering the DSi XL route as well. I hear they have great screens.
