Lol Acnl is just a hub world not large enough to be considered open world imo

Well, it's not really even a hub because it's not central to anything else. But it's about as free roam as you can get.

Kenka Bancho 6 Soul&Blood. The whole series is basically Saints Row At School (sorta like Bully was GTA At School, this one's zanier, hence the SR comparison), but, alas, only the third game, on the PSP, was released in English. It's also one more game that supports the Circle Pad Pro, making it a double-win.

If Metroidvanias count (otherwise, there's no reason to have Mirror of Fate listed), Xeodrifter also applies.

Wasn't trying to deny Metroidvanias apply, just that Mirror of Fate isn't particularly good at being one. Not that we can complain, considering how few of them there are on the 3DS.

Should we maybe also remember Terraria and those two Minecraft clones whose names keep escaping me?

I never really consider Minecraft and its clones but they are Open World. Not a fan of Minecraft. As for Mirror of fate its my first Castlevania game so cant really hate it from a nostalgic point of view i just hate its frame drops.
