Wiibru is a good host too. I've had 99% success rate. Very rare that it crashes. All you need is the Homebrew launcher and other apps. (Loadiine, TCP Gecko, etc.)

Some do that. It depends if your router is static or dynamic.

That's another thing, since your router may be dynamic, make sure your updates remain blocked. If you're using tubehax, you'll be fine. If you're using OpenDNS, you may need to download their client to your computer so it auto-updates your IP so you don't lose your block.

If you rely on a DHCP server (like those included in routers) to get IP addresses to your computers and consoles eventually it may assign a different IP when the IP expires (normally home routers will assign the same IP or have a infinite expiration for IP).
To make it easy to use you may assign fixed IP on your WiiU, outside the range of your DHCP server (let say that you router have a interval of XXX.XXX.XXX.050 to XXX.XXX.XXX.100 set to DHCP server, anything between 2 and 49 and 101 to 254 normally should be safe to use on the end of your WiiU IP address).
Other way (but not totally reliable because you may reset the router settings eventually) is to make the DHCP server table fix a IP to your WiiU mac address, so it'll never assign this IP to other equipment or change the WiiU IP address. Normally good routers have a checkbox on it's "connected clients" table to fix the IP setting.

im using both openDNS and tubehax to be extra secure :D but i will check so it havent changed anything more! :)
