A Filipino modded his old original model 3DS to create a second stick of its own. Its just a mirror function of the d-pad. It doesn't work like the New 3DS c-stick but its very useful for game/s like Monster Hunter 3/4U.

Credits to the owner of the video. Its been revealed in our FB page for a couple of days now.

Isn't it better to just grab a CPP? A d-pad only works in four directions (unless you also count diagonals in which case eight) while an analog stick provides 360 degrees of motion (inb4 someone mentions radians and how the precision is even higher, I know).

I suppose the mod is better if you don't want the additional bulk that comes with carrying a CPP.

The additional bulk comes with an actual analog stick and additional triggers. If I were to mod a 3DS to have twin sticks, I'd integrate the CPP hardware into the system, the PCB is tiny.
