I dont want to sound rude but... this thread is complete usseles. Seriusly, American games companies donst care about this at all, they care about the money.

This request thread should be send to Absolute Zero (they are making a good Tales Of Innocense english translation). At least.... this team could translate a couple of games.

I hate Namco America, the "Tales Of" saga is complete fuck up. 50% of the saga donst have a localization.

It seems that people can't understand the real point of this topic:

QUOTE(HernanZh @ Mar 21 2009, 02:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hackers/translators usually have better things to do than translating random requests. People don't want to involve themselves with games they don't even like. And why would they listen to some random dude asking "Hey, could you translate game x?"

Then why this thread? Firstly to get rid of all the random request topics of course. Secondly, a small increase of chance to get the game translated. Let me explain why that is: A translator or hacker want to see games translated too, but first they need to know these games. At some point, he comes across a game (reads a review, reads a website or downloads the game by accident etc.), and thinks: "wow, this game is pretty cool". From that point, the translator builds interest to translate the game.
And the only chance you (as the useless and lazy bum that you are <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />) have to get a game translated is to try to get the game known to trigger that impulse. That's why requests DON'T work, but what you need to do is present the game and hope a translator reads it! And that's pretty much also the whole point of the "request form". Sure, the chance of a capable someone reading it and starting a project may be small, but at least it's not 0% (more like 1% now).

Also, I see some request forms written with only a few lines for a description and with very few and/or unrepresentative screenshots, like a boxshot. Those requests are shit and you might as well do the ol' "can some plz translate this for me, kthnxbai" >_> The screenshots are really important to catch one's eyes, so take good ones!

Game name
4851 - Ivy The Kiwi (J)

Release date
April 22, 2010 - Also released for Wii.

Game info
Originally released for Windows Mobile, exclusively in japan, November last year.
"The game has been compared to Kirby Canvas Curse by the media as the players do not directly control Ivy, Ivy only moves in a linear direction and the player has to draw lines to guide Ivy away from danger and to the goal, all the while escaping obstacles and collecting power ups and the like." - Wikipedia
Basically you use the stylus to draw lines that act as ramps, etc. to guide Ivy the 'Kiwi' (it actually is not much like a real kiwi lmao. Poor new zealanders..) to the end of each stage. There are pitfalls, spikes and just plain holes, as well as stairs and things you have to get over. The lines you draw can be pulled on like elastic to give Ivy a boosted 'jump' in the opposite direction to which you pull it. Ivy is not directly controllable though; she just runs from the left side of the stage to the right.

Your offering
Well.. I guess I could help with translation, but kinda busy with other projects already so yeah.. Other than that, eternal love and gratitude? =D

I've unpacked the rom, and it seems to be pretty standard. The font only contains hiragana, katakana, english alphabet, roman numerals and standard other characters, so its quite small really. also means less work since there is english already there I guess. but I wont try and sound like I know what I'm doing with the hacking XD

October 26, 2006 (JP)

Game info
It's a Tales game, about 1/3 of all Tales games is released in the western world.

Gameplay info: Tales of the Tempest utilizes the "3-on-3 Linear Motion Battle System" (3on3-LMBS). "3-on-3" refers to the fact that this is a 3D battle system based on Tales of Rebirth's "3 Line LMBS". [2] Like the "3 Line" system, 3on3-LMBS places combatants on a battlefield with 3 linear planes. Players can move between these three planes at will, and unlike in the "3 Line" system, they can attack enemies on other planes by adjusting their position.

The game also features the "beastman transformation" system, where Lycanth characters are able to morph into their beast form during battle, which increases their strength and attack power.[3] Like other Tales games, cooking is featured, as well as "camp skits", which allows the player to learn more about the personalities of the characters.

A multiplayer mode is present to take advantage of the DS's wireless capabilities. The mode is enabled by an item found in one of the dungeons of the game, "Eleusis's Key". Different players can journey through the same game world using their own characters, and combat can be initiated when they come into contact. While items and gald earned in the multiplayer mode can be carried over to the single-player mode, any experience gained will not.

Hey guys, you probably all gonna laugh at me but I'd love to see this game translated!! Poupeegirl has quite a big following all over the world acutally. Their website is partly in english and there are lots of ppl from all over the world on it. It seems as if the game won't get released in the West, it's been almost 2 yrs and I havent heard anything of a DS english release..
A group of devoted fans (yet without you guys awesome hacking skills) already translated quite a bit of the japanese text...so there probably is not too much left to ranslate...just to get into the game is the difficult thing that they can't do. Would anyone be willing to help out? I'd love to see more girly games being translated

I would like to make a "small" translation request.

Game name
Tingle's Balloon Fight

Release date
April, 2007

Game info
This game should be quite simple to translate. It was only released in Japan, as part of the Club Nintendo rewards program, and will never see the light of day in the US (other than my copy). It would all be graphical translation, as it's a mostly text-free game. Basically, the menus and selection screens are the problems. I'm willing and able to take care of the images, but I have no idea how to extract them, translate, and replace.

Your offering
I can take care of the graphics, if I'm told how to extract the ones I'm looking for, and the text that needs to go on them.

Also, I would like to be able to host this file on my site, without having an illegal ROM. Is it possible to create a patch, rather than a ROM edit? Thanks.

[this bit removed: sorry but you're not allowed to even offer a rom, though I understand why you did. -mthr]

Tactical Guild

Release date
JP, 08/28/08

Game info
In Tactical Guild, players assemble a team of adventurers who vary in class and profession who then roam out into the world in search of adversaries, treasure, and experience. The protagonist can quest alongside attractive female party members and build bonds with them which can result in a relationship. Along with the main adventure, there's also 71 mission-based side quests to contend with. It's been 3 years since the game's been released, so I highly doubt it'll come in US....

Tactics Layer

Release date
JP, 05/28/09

Game info
D3 Publisher is working on a strategy RPG with a cosplay gimmick. Being well dressed means being well prepared for battle in Tactics Layer. The outfits you choose affect your characters skills. Instead of filling stores with strategy RPG staples like plate mail and wizard robes, Tactics Layer has maid costumes and bunny ears to equip. We’ll have a better idea which item boosts “health” and “sexy” (no kidding that’s a real stat!). Knowing this kinda genre, I doubt it'll come to US.

This game is actually setup very simple, it would be a great project for anyone starting out in ROM hacking.

All text is uncompressed, located in conveniently named files, and uses Shift_JIS encoding. The game already has single-byte as well. I managed to replace some dialogue, item names, and other text without any problems. All graphics (there are some menu graphics with text) are located in the "gra" folder and are the typical NCGR files with a NCLR palette to go along with it.

Get yourself a text extractor/inserter and you've just made an easy project even easier. Oh and the game is only 16MB, so it's relatively smaller than other DS games.

Katekyoo Hitman Reborn! DS Fate of Heat III - Yuki no Shugomono Raishuu!

Release date
Apr 29, 2010

Game info
This game is a 3D RPG (that uses cards to perform actions) based on the
Future Saga of the "Katekyo Hitman Reborn" series, though around halfway
through the game, new original characters are introduced and the story takes
a sudden turn.
I am sure this doesn't come to the west because there are no games of REBORN! released here.
There are 10 DS games of the REBORN! series and none came in the west.
