It seems that people can't understand the real point of this topic:

QUOTE(HernanZh @ Mar 21 2009, 08:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Once again, the point of this topic:
Hackers/translators usually have better things to do than translating random requests. People don't want to involve themselves with games they don't even like. And why would they listen to some random dude asking "Hey, could you translate game x?"

Then why this thread? Firstly to get rid of all the random request topics of course. Secondly, a small increase of chance to get the game translated. Let me explain why that is: A translator or hacker want to see games translated too, but first they need to know these games. At some point, he comes across a game (reads a review, reads a website or downloads the game by accident etc.), and thinks: "wow, this game is pretty cool". From that point, the translator builds interest to translate the game.
And the only chance you (as the useless and lazy bum that you are <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />) have to get a game translated is to try to get the game known to trigger that impulse. That's why requests DON'T work, but what you need to do is present the game and hope a translator reads it! And that's pretty much also the whole point of the "request form". Sure, the chance of a capable someone reading it and starting a project may be small, but at least it's not 0% (more like 1% now).

Also, I see some request forms written with only a few lines for a description and with very few and/or unrepresentative screenshots, like a boxshot. Those requests are shit and you might as well do the ol' "can some plz translate this for me, kthnxbai" >_> The screenshots are really important to catch one's eyes, so take good ones!

Another thing to note:
Please, please, please refrain from requesting zero-day translations (this means a translation of a game that has just been released) unless there is an irrefutable source stating that the game will definitely not be localised, or at the very least, a large amount of evidence pointing towards the same. This is very often a waste of everyone's time. Thank you.

Very good idea, that should stop the cluttering of request topics. I'd say unsticky the topic I made and sticky this one.

Since there's a dedicated topic about requesting translations now, if anyone requests a translation outside this thread it'd be better to delete the topic instead of locking it because it still takes space in the page.
Good job Toni!

Okay, I'll give this a try.

Game name
Rom #2636 - Johnny no Dasshutsu Daisakusen

Release date
28th August 2008 (Japan)

Game info

Indiana Jones meets Hotel Dusk. You play a treasure hunter whose goal is to escape a variety of rooms. What's frustrating about this, is not only is the game in japanese, making progress difficult, but apparently, there's a method of copy protection used if you're using the rom which'll stop you getting past the first few rooms. This also makes it difficult to get an idea of how big the game is, though unpacked, the rom is 8Mb, so it seems pretty small, which might make it ideal as a first project for someone.

Game name
Daikoukai Jidai IV: Rota Nova ( also known as Uncharted Water IV )

Release date
March 2, 2006 ( japan )

Game info
You could play as a trader, killing pirates or become a pirates. There are also treasure hunt and other feature. This game takes place in the whole world map of earth.
It is a strategy game, trader simulation.
I don't think this game will ever be released in USA, the only translated series is uncharted water I & II, uncharted water III and IV in pc version is never translated.

( really hard to find the screenshots @_@ ) ( English translation in .txt files for psp though, but i think it almost the same )

This game is the next episode of Uncharted Water series. Uncharted water I and II is released in PC version and also Snes version, and it also translated into English. Unfortunately uncharted water III and IV is only released in japan version, and i think in Korea and Chinese version also exist. And then the IV is released for PSP and DS.

Sorry I cannot help in anything >..<
I could only give morale support [IMG]

I hope someone will pick this game for a translation project ^^

Thank You Before ^^

Game 1

Game name
Deltora Quest: 7-tsu no Houseki

Release date
September 20, 2007 (JP)

Game info

Its an RPG based on the polular novels/novel of Deltora Quest. I dont know much about the game since i cant find much info on it. But an worldwide release seems very unlikely since its practily unknown to the western world.

A general overview of the Deltora Quest is: The first series of Deltora Quest follows the journeys of Lief, who has set out to do his father's quest of saving Deltora. Joining Lief is the ex-palace guard Barda. Along the way they meet with Jasmine - a wild child of the Forests of Silence. Their quest is to find the seven gems of the fabled Belt of Deltora: topaz, ruby, opal, lapis lazuli, emerald, amethyst, and diamond. Each gem is hidden in a dangerous location around Deltora and the three friends must face all sorts of perils to reach them. Once the Belt is complete the evil tyranny of the Shadow Lord will end and Deltora's one sole heir will take his/her rightful place on the quest.

The game is very stylus based as you can see on the movie below.

Your offering

I dont know. I dont really have anything to offer. But i know that many people besides myself would like to try this game out.

Game 2

Game name
Tales of the Tempest

Release date
October 26, 2006 (JP)

Game info
It's a Tales game, about 1/3 of all Tales games is released in the western world.

Gameplay info: Tales of the Tempest utilizes the "3-on-3 Linear Motion Battle System" (3on3-LMBS). "3-on-3" refers to the fact that this is a 3D battle system based on Tales of Rebirth's "3 Line LMBS". [2] Like the "3 Line" system, 3on3-LMBS places combatants on a battlefield with 3 linear planes. Players can move between these three planes at will, and unlike in the "3 Line" system, they can attack enemies on other planes by adjusting their position.

The game also features the "beastman transformation" system, where Lycanth characters are able to morph into their beast form during battle, which increases their strength and attack power.[3] Like other Tales games, cooking is featured, as well as "camp skits", which allows the player to learn more about the personalities of the characters.

A multiplayer mode is present to take advantage of the DS's wireless capabilities. The mode is enabled by an item found in one of the dungeons of the game, "Eleusis's Key". Different players can journey through the same game world using their own characters, and combat can be initiated when they come into contact. While items and gald earned in the multiplayer mode can be carried over to the single-player mode, any experience gained will not.

Your offering
I really dont have anything to offer. Ask me? (I dont know japanese)

Note: Of these two games i would love to have Deltora Quest.
